The Inter-American Development Bank in collaboration with Pan Trinbago host Digital Skills for Youth Programme.

On Saturday, June 29, 2024, the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), in collaboration with Pan Trinbago, successfully hosted the second installment of its ongoing transformative Digital Skills for Youth Programme. The event, titled "Beat Buzz: Social Media Engagement for Youth Steelbands," was held at the IDB's country office in Trinidad and Tobago.

This initiative, aimed at equipping young steelband members with essential digital skills, was facilitated by Karel McIntosh, a renowned Public Speaking Coach and the Director of Training and Marketing at LiveWired Group. The session is both engaging and informative, empowering participants to effectively leverage social media platforms to promote their bands and engage with wider audiences.

The Digital Skills for Youth Programme is part of IDB's broader effort to enhance the digital literacy and employability of young people in the region. By collaborating with Pan Trinbago, the programme specifically targets youth involved in steelbands, providing them with tools to boost their online presence and connect with fans and sponsors globally.

The IDB and Pan Trinbago plan to continue their collaboration, with future sessions aimed at further enhancing the digital capabilities of youth in the Steelband community. This initiative not only fosters cultural preservation but also supports economic empowerment through digital inclusion.
