LARGE BANDS PRELIMS ON THIS WEEK ..

From Sunday February 02, 2020 to Wednesday 05, 2020, seventeen (17) Large Conventional steelbands will face their category judges in a bid to fill fourteen (14) coveted spots in the semi-finals round of the National Panorama 2020.

Taking the lead are the bands from the North (in order of appearance)  ie Massy Trinidad All Stars, bp Renegades, Nutrien Silver Stars, Shell Invaders, MHTL Starlift, HADCO Phase II Pan Groove and Desperadoes on Sunday February 02 from 7:00 pm.

On Monday February 03, also from 7:00 pm, the two (2) entrants from the sister isle, RBC Redemption Sound Setters and NLCB Buccooneers, will face the adjudication panel.

Tuesday February 04, the East based bands, birdsong, Republic Bank Exodus and First Citizens Supernovas will perform their Panorama offering at their respective pan yards.

Then on Wednesday February 5, the bands in the South/Central region will close off this category. They are T&TEC Tropical Angel Harp0s, CAL Skiffle, Antillean All Stars, NLCB Fonclaire and NGC La Brea Nightingales.

Competition starts at 7:00 pm in all Regions.

The “big guns” will know their musical fate on Thursday February 06 when the score sheets will be opened at the Murchison Brown Auditorium, Port of Spain City Hall, Knox Street, Port of Spain, before the bands’ representatives. Draw for playing positions will be held on the following day, Friday February 07, at the NCC VIP Lounge, Queen’s Park Savannah, Port of Spain at 10:00am.

Those delegated with the adjudication task for this stage are Michelle Dowrich, Lambert Phillip, Richard Pierre and Roger Sardinah.

Come Sunday February 09, 14 Medium and 14 Large Conventional Bands will play off for places in their respective Finals.

Tickets for “The Savannah Party” priced at $200. (Grand Stand) and $300. (Pan City) are on sale at the advertised outlets.
